Old Vinyl was conceived from the sound idea of playing a vinyl record. Compared to the original, there are noises that appear during playback, such as machine noise, crackling, altered timbres, and other distortions. For many audiophiles, these sounds are part of the ritual of listening to music and evoke nostalgia. In this work, these sounds are an integral part of the narrative. The instrumental air is treated as the main sound element. Crackling sounds appear in counterpoint and articulations create irregularities. Timbral adulteration is achieved through the use of different vowels and different dynamic profiles that create unusual spectral and stereophonic perceptions. The bassoon is the protagonist: it comments, contrasts, and enhances this music in motion. The tempos themselves are proportional to 78 and 45 rpm records, and the choice of pitches depends on this relationship with the rhythm.
