Premiere of Desertificação
Yesterday was the premiere of my work Desertificação for orchestra of flutes, clarinets, saxophones, percussion and electronics. As part of the 3rd edition of Woodwinds Summercamp in Galveias, the concert featured several works and world premieres, two of which by Bernardo Lima and Lucas Rei Ramos.
My congratulations to everyone involved, especially to Arte Piacere (João Oliveira, Liliana Moreira and Luís Espadana) for the initiative and all the work they did with these young people.

Premiere of ‘na plangência’
Next Thursday, my piece na plangência for clarinet and electronics will be premiered by Batista Júnior at Plurisons Festival (João Pessoa, Brazil). This work was commissioned by the clarinetist and it was composed in 2020. The score was created entirely in Adobe Illustrator and the colors represent the harmonies that occur in the electronics.

Talk at ESML
Tomorrow I’ll be giving a talk at the Composition Week 2023 of the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML). The topic is about my piece that was premiered yesterday by Dejana Sekulić: “Revealing different tones of noise: the creative process of Shades of White”. Thanks to Jaime Reis for the invitation and congratulations to everyone involved in this interesting event.

Premiere of ‘Shades of White’
Next Saturday at 8pm, at Lisboa Incomum, my piece Shades of White for violin and minimal electronics will be premiered by the Serbian violinist Dejana Sekulić. The piece was commissioned by Projecto DME for the artistic residency during these days. The score has some peculiarities, such as the absence of pitches and the use of decimal tempo markings. Most of the time the violinist bows the body of the violin.

Música Viva Festival in O’culto da Ajuda
Next Wednesday, 10 May, my piece cae mi voz for flute, clarinet and baritone saxophone will be performed by the Concrète Lab Ensemble, under the artistic direction of João Quinteiro, at the Música Viva Festival in O’culto da Ajuda.

Rondino’s transcription premiere – photos
Photos from the premiere of Rondino’s transcription for the two organs of the Braga Cathedral on April 28th. Arturo Barba Sevillano and Christian Tarabbia played in a concert in which the audience was packed. The work was the winner of the 1st Prize in its category.

Participation at NCMM conference
This week at the Nova Contemporary Music Meeting International Conference I’ll be presenting a communication on the meaning and notation of multiphonics in my piece Orgias do agora, the result of a collaboration with Henrique Portovedo.
